What is PLANT KINDNESS?

Updated: Apr 9

Question: "What is PLANT KINDNESS?"

Short Answer: An annual fundraising event for pottery, plants, and baked goodies in the studio!

But really, the history of PLANT KINDNESS started 3 years ago as a celebration of our newly-realized studio: making pottery with friends, gardening, baking and welcoming springtime. And why not share that joy with the wider community as well!

We believe in planting seeds of kindness, and watching it grow in both our studio and community!

Each year, we make dozens of ceramic planters and vases leading up to spring for our annual fundraiser. Each piece is unique in decoration, colour, shape and glaze, just like each person who makes it. We then fill each piece with a potted plant or a bouquet of fresh-cut flowers to be ready for the day of the event.

It takes a village of potters to do this, with everyone from members, to students and teachers lending their time and talents to make it happen! (This year, we made over 100 pieces).

With each ticket purchased for the event, it helps our non-profit studio make facility improvements and offer clay arts programming.

Once you pick your pot, you can take a tour of our pottery studio and stay for high-tea. Stay as long as you'd like!

We believe in making it special, with high-tea served in a dining hall on beautiful porcelain and LOTS of sweet and savoury home-baking. Did you know potters are also very talented bakers? We're often told making pottery is similar to baking!

We hope to see you this year, and can hardly wait for May and sunny spring-time weather to come. Tickets are limited to the number of pots we make, so be sure to grab a ticket soon (last year we sold out)!

You can purchase tickets in-person at the studio, or online here:
