So you're clay curious. But where do you start? If you've befriended one of our Studio Members, we suggest joining them in the studio to try out these projects through our Bring-A-Guest Program!
These projects are fun and easy to make, plus make great to gifts and can be used around the house:
Ornaments (for Christmas trees, oil diffusers, necklace pendants, gift tags...)
Spoon rests
Teabag holders
Ring dishes
Catch-all bowls
Charcuterie chutney bowls
Buttons (great for knitters and quilters)
Soap dishes

How To?
These can all be made with a slab of clay! Use a rolling pin (pretend like you're rolling out dough) or get assistance using our Slab Roller by a CSC Member. Aim to make your slab 1/2" thick so they're robust enough to go into the kiln. Too thin is too risky!
Customize with cookie cutters, molds, and texture tools to customize (just like you would to make sugar cookies). TIP: Your hands are also you best tools!
What's nice about these projects is that you do not have to make any attachments, so there's a greater chance of survival in the kiln if you're new to clay. But if you have your CSC Buddy with you, you're in good hands!
We hope to see you in the studio - hey, maybe you'll just fall in love with clay like we did!
